Lowe’s home improvement expert, Mike Kraft, shows how to install a vinyl gate when building a new fence. First, measure the clearance for the gate and hinges. Lay a wooden board on the ground to mark where the gate will be, and then mark the position of the next post. Dig the hole and set the post inside. After filling with concrete, it is time to install the gate hardware. Make sure to attach all gate hinges before hanging the actual vinyl gate. Once the hardware is in place, set the gate on wood blocks to the desired height. To finish off the gate, screw in the hinges, handle and latch lever.
